Words painfully penurious in their buds. Words distended. Words slippery with formlessness. Words that carry my child. Words looking onto Medusa in repose, laughing. Words that penetrate the void like a sword. Words that become the void. Words written in white ink. Words that can’t express pain or love. Words who slow dance with aphasia and flirt with amnesia. Words in front of a mirror. Words whose brothers are portmanteaux. Words synonymous with short shrift. Words, said by Hamlet three times. Words so subtle I haven’t written them.
About Me: I am the author of the forthcoming novel A Suburb of Monogamy and the cofounder of the literary erotica journal Omnia Vanitas Review, which is always looking for submissions.
About my Blog: I am a writer and a reader. This is my collage of dissection, analysis, and dissemination. I wish to promote the other side of literature and in the process weave a quilt and stitch myself into the literary world using fragments of fiction and criticism. My blog is an homage to language, to words, and to the void that cushions them both.
I also do some freelance editing work. $100 for a 200 page novel. $150 for 300, and so on. I am tough, meticulous, and extremely thorough. My goal is to collapse the boundary between reader and text to try and show the author each thought as it occurs, relates, and interprets. Though I am a writer myself, I have an ability to leave my own artistic imprint out of the text and can and will edit with the author’s, but more importantly, with the project’s eyes and its intentions in mind. I edit structurally, thematically, and give in-depth character analysis, as well as comprehensive line edits. If you’re at all interested, please contact me at Cathy.R.Borders at Gmail dot com.
